Abductors of six Islamic clerics in Zamfara State have demanded a ransom of N30 million for their release, Daily Trust has gathered.

A source in Dakko village, Bakura Local Government Area of the state, Malam Muhammad Ibrahim, confirmed the development to Daily Trust via telephone.

Ibrahim, however, said the driver of the clerics, who was abducted alongside the Imams, has been released after payment of N2 million ransom.

He said, “The bandits actually abducted eight persons — five Imams, their driver, and two other people who were abducted on their way home from the farm.
