International partnership needed to strengthen health...

原文原文 / Original TextKano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, commended the Saudi government for its continued interventions in the state’s health sector, saying international partnerships were important in strengthening the healthcare system and improving access to medical services, particularly for vulnerable people.
He said this while speaking at the medical outreach at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), sponsored by the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Kano as part of its humanitarian and healthcare support to Kano State.
He appreciated the Saudi authorities for selecting Kano for the intervention, saying initiatives that directly benefited ordinary citizens were crucial to improving their wellbeing.
The governor also described AKTH as a major referral and training institution serving Kano and neighbouring states, adding that partnerships with reputable international organisations could further enhance its capacity.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, said the latest intervention was part of the growing healthcare cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Kano.
He said Saudi medical teams had previously conducted three voluntary medical campaigns in the state, involving open-heart and urological surgeries as well as cardiac catheterisation.
According to him, the latest intervention would complement the efforts of the state government and healthcare institutions to improve access to quality medical care.
He said the government remained committed to strengthening the health sector through strategic partnerships, improved infrastructure, capacity building and other initiatives.
