2027: We’ll Replicate Osun Experience in Ogun - Accord...

原文原文 / Original TextThe governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Ogun State, Alhaji Agbongboakala Olaniyi Okewole, has said the party will replicate its recent electoral success in Osun State in the 2027 Ogun governorship election.
Okewole made the declaration in Abeokuta while speaking at the unveiling of the party’s 2027 governorship campaign council and the flag-off of the “Ogun Lighting Project”, an initiative under which Accord said 300 solar-powered streetlights would be installed in rural communities across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The Accord candidate said the party is prepared to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that the outcome of the recent Osun governorship election had demonstrated that political change is possible.
“Come February 2026, Ogun people are prepared. We will replicate what happened in Osun, and we will do it well,” he said.

Inside APC campaigns
The Osun governorship election was held on August 15, 2026, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaring incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of Accord as winner with 511,067 votes, ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
Daily Trust reports that Adeleke won the election despite what analysts called political intimidation and deployment of federal might.
