Obi: I Will End Politics of Tribalism, Religion If Elected

原文原文 / Original TextPresidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has pledged to end what he described as the politics of tribalism and religion if elected president in 2027.
Obi made the pledge on Saturday during a town hall meeting in Kaduna, where he said his administration would promote unity, love and care among Nigerians.
“We will unite this country. Because we need unity. We don’t want this politics of tribalism, politics of religion. No. We want politics of unity, politics of love, politics of care.
“That’s what we want to do. We want politics that secure Nigeria,” he said.

The former Anambra State governor said the country needs a political system driven by the demands and needs of citizens rather than politicians making promises during campaigns and giving excuses after assuming office.
“What we want now is that we want politics to be demand-driven, not supply-driven,” Obi said.
